Ghats Of Ganga - Garh Mukhteshwar

" Don't you feel sometimes to just leave everything and go somewhere, just go to some random places, sometimes to explore the place, sometimes to explore freedom and sometimes, to explore yourself, without any rules and regulations, no conditions, and a little solitude, to be your own boss"

I guess, after reading the lines above, you may have imagined about being on a mountain top, or taking sunbath on a red sand beach, or taking an open road bike trip for countless kilometers and if not, then by the end of this blog you may think of going off the place I am going to suggest 😎.

Place can be any, reason can be any, but there one day I decided to take a leave from my routine day and leave for some unknown place. I called up two of my friends and one of them suggested for "Ghats Of Ganga". ( yes by hearing ghats of Ganga, even I thought of Haridwar, Prayagraj, or Banaras, but this time it was different 😎 ).

At a distance of nearly 100 km from Delhi on NH9, lies a holy town Garh Mukhteswar on the bank of Ganges. I took hardly seconds to done this place for my next small trip. ( Believe me, if you are not even 0.1% religious, you can still find this place happening 😜)

" no interstate bus, no train, we will go on bikes ", we three decided just a night before.
It was a beautiful, cloudy morning we experienced the next day and we left by 0900 hrs. Empty stomachs were craving for breakfast and in no time we got a place with these delicacies aloo kachodi.
(Just added to tell you, Delhi is one of the best when it comes to food anytime, anywhere 😛 )

" This road should never end ", I wished while riding my bike on this empty, wide 6 lane highway. I don't know how many of you will agree, but some roads are magical, showing a new landscape by each passing mile.

National Highway 9

With the weather on our side and not much trouble, we reached the holy town in nearly three hours with a single-halt for CHAI 💓 ( We took the route NH24 and then NH9 ). We parked our two-wheeler near the main ghat and started walking towards it.

we were welcomed by a channel of countless shops selling traditional and cultural items related to prayers, last rites and rituals, and for the great fair.

and then came the view of the almighty Ganga, just silent waters as far as you can see, countless people all over, small beautiful ancient temples, a band of different voices, divine surroundings, classical statues, serene environment, and boat rides.

" yes, well designed little boats for you, to make you feel the  presence of Ganges, to travel around the ghat and pocket friendly
( if you have good bargaining skills 😁)

A joyful, mesmerizing ride for few minutes was just enough to overcome the long trip tiredness we had. It was the first time when I experienced the silence of ghats and a flock of yellow wattled lapwings.

I just sat there on the ghat and just watched what's happening there, every little thing, from sadhus enchanting mantras to people taking a dip in the holy Ganges, from monkeys creating chaos and people feeding cows, from the majestic bridge across the Ganges to the divine statue of Lord Shiva.

We again started our journey back to Delhi by the afternoon and reached by 1900 hrs.
The whole purpose of this trip was to get a break from the urban life and get drowned in the rural culture of our great nation, the actual place where you can find true peace and happiness.

" Was I lost in that holy environment ? ",
yes, I do, and if you are planning to come here, you will too, and believe me it will be worth.
